Hello,
At the Settings Metabox of the Builder, I have the following troubles:
- It seems that the compression option looks like not working, it doesn't matter selecting compression 1 or 9, the quality of the PDF file and the file size remain the same.
- That's the same problem with "Images Optimization". This is not working either. The quality of the PDF file and the file size remain also the same.
Or does some other option need to be turned on first for that? If so, which one?
I now work temporarily with the free version to work out a project locally first. Could this be the problem?
Apparently, this was also noted by other users in the past and still hasn't changed.

Thanks in advance for having a look at this please.

Best Regards

Hello,

PDF Compression has a low effect as it's trying to optimize the PDF structure and not the content. As for the Image optimization, it applies currently just to the "Image" objects, not the "Images" inserted/rendered via the "HTML" block. It will affect the size only in case the "Image" has a larger size than the "Image" object.

To keep PDF the lowest size it's recommended to use the "Flatten" option set to "Yes".

Hello,
Thanks for your fast answer.
Indeed, I do use Image object but with the value of uploaded images. See screen copy attached.
Does it matter if I tick the "Only Image" box or not?

No, the setting will not affect the compression. Your images must be compressed, in case they are too large.

Can you please attach the example of your PDFs to the next message? with Compression set to "Low Quality" and "No Compression" / "Default"?

P.S. You can mark the message "Private" so only we can see the message.

Hello,
What do you mean by Compression set to "Low Quality"? It is a range from 0 to 9 or "Default". Or do you mean "Images Optimization"?
And "No Compression" is eqaul to "Default"?
I'm sorry, I don't understand it. See screen copies.

Yes, "Images Optimization".

PDF Compression will not affect PDF size too much. This option is planned to be removed.

We can see that "Images Optimization" works as expected. You are getting output exactly as it was designed.

- When "No Optimization" is set - it will use the "Original" image size.

- When any other option is set - it will check if the image is larger than the block and will try to optimize it by reducing the original size.

In this case, the size will depend on the
- Images optimization setting
- Image original size (width and height)
- Image block size (width and height)

Image optimization will not work if the "Image" size is already less than the "Image" block size or image is not supported. With image optimization - the larger the "Image" block - the larger the size of the image and PDF.

P.S. The "Good Quality" setting must give the best Quality / Size result.

Hi,
Ok, I understand this better now.
My sincere apologies for these misunderstandings. I had tested one and other and thought it didn't work. But now I can clearly see the difference.
My apologies again and thank you very much for your explanation and time.
I really appreciate it.
