What is the purpose/benefits of flattening a PDF?

Hi,

"No" flatten - PDF fields will remain editable after generation
"Yes" flatten - PDF fields will not be editable but it will be possible to copy text
"Full" flatten - PDF pages will be converted to images and none of text will be possible to copy
